University-Wide Incoming Faculty Orientation
Aug. 17–18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Eberly Center (Room 1308), Ground Floor, Tepper School of Business
Welcome to ºÚÁÏ×¨Çøâ€™s university-wide Incoming Faculty Orientation!
This two-day orientation, facilitated by the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty in partnership with the Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and Educational Innovation, is an opportunity to meet other new faculty and postdocs and explore what ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø has to offer. The program is designed to help new faculty learn about many aspects of their faculty role and to begin their professional development journey at ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø. In particular, the program will focus on supporting success across teaching, research and service.
All CMU postdocs and faculty from any track, rank, school/college, and/or location are welcome to attend.

Register for the University-Wide Incoming Faculty Orientation
Dietrich College Incoming Faculty Orientation
Wednesday, Aug. 19, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Posner Hall, Room 392 & Posner Grand Room (Room 340)
The Dietrich College Incoming Faculty Orientation is a one-day event intended to help strengthen connections with the college community by meeting faculty from other departments during our welcome lunch. It is also an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of resources within the college during our afternoon sessions.
Staff Council General Body Meeting
Thursday, Aug. 20, noon to 1 p.m., Hunt Library, IDeaTe Studio A or Zoom
Staff Council meets monthly to discuss CMU staff-related topics and Staff Council-sponsored events. All CMU staff members are welcome to attend.

Nominate a Colleague for the Dietrich College Staff Community Excellence Award
Deadline: Sept. 4
The Staff Community Excellence Award is presented to Dietrich College staff members who regularly go above and beyond to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment within the college and our surrounding community.Ìý
Nominees will embody the values of community engagement and outreach by providing leadership, coordinating efforts which increase cultural competence, creating and enhancing inclusive climates, and connecting the larger community with their outreach efforts.Ìý

Graduate Student Orientation: University Welcome

This is the opening university welcome session for the Graduate Student Orientation program, which includes all incoming master’s and doctoral students.
University-Wide New Graduate Student Orientation
Aug. 11–13, CMU Main Campus
To welcome new graduate students to the Carnegie Mellon community and help support the transition to graduate study, the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, in partnership with many colleagues across campus, offers University-Wide New Graduate Student Orientation.
